Ideas for the Editing Engine


Instead of including multiple filmstrips that can be switched out, we can provide what we call a "cut-away reel" which can include a number of different shots stitched together with black in between. For instance, if the student can add various intertitles or insert shots, then these might all be provided on one cut-away reel.

Only one filmstrip will be on screen but there will be some kind of button to switch out filmstrips. Ideally we would have no more than two filmstrips?

If the explicit assignment is to integrate one or more close-ups, for instance, these shots might already be on the editing grid.

Possible add-ons could include:

  • soundtrack
  • masks (iris shots)
  • tinting
